About Me
-
Describe Yourself:I'm a conservative guy from Austin, TX. I moved to the DC area back in May. I am a big fan of the UT Longhorns, and also a Dallas Cowboys fan and San Antonio Spurs fan. I like movies, reading, hiking, working out, hanging out with friends, "teh internets", games (mostly strategy games), yada yada. Yep, pretty much like a lot of people do. I guess what differentiates me is that I am a pretty strong Christian, and I have a lot of convictions about my beliefs. I consider myself extremely loyal to those I care about, and I can be uptight about some things and completely relaxed about other things. For example, I like my cups and glasses to be organized a certain way and I am extremely clean at work, but my room tends to get cluttered and messy. I am a pack rat, and save everything...I get that from both my grandmothers, I think. I tend to be a pretty staunch Republican, which is true to form in Texas, but not necessarily in Austin. I like to hear and read alternate viewpoints to my own, as a way to broaden my outlook on life, but to also strengthen my beliefs and convictions.

Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:I like to read all kinds of books, both nonfiction and fiction. Most fiction I read are fluffy thriller novels that are just light reading. Koontz, King, Grisham, etc. are good authors I like. I also like nonfiction, and currently political books. I finally finished the 9/11 report and read all 5 Harry Potter books in like two weeks. I bought and read the 6th one in like 13 hours. I have read a great Koontz book called "Velocity" that had a nice plot line. I didn't figure out the guy who did it, so that was a good mystery. I just finished Grisham's "The Last Juror, " which while it was an interesting character piece, it was far from the best work he's done. Also read "All the Shah's Men, " which was an incredible book about how American policies in Iran led to the Islamo-fascist regime that it currently has. Very educational. Another interesting book was called "Men in Black" which discusses the Supreme Court and liberals effects on the courts. Before that was a book called "Understanding Iraq" which compared America to the British Imperialists of the early 20th century. I liked it because it gave me a great understanding of the history of Iraq. It was biased against the war, but I gleaned some good facts from it., The usual ones out there...Crichton, Koontz, King, Rowling, Grisham, etc.
